Outline of JEDIC

On December 21, 2007, the Japan Electronic Data Interchange Council (JEDIC) was relaunched with the support of top leaders in industry.
The objectives of JEDIC are to promote information integration in industry and contribute to the construction and development of infrastructure for information sharing between industries through the study of cross-industry issues and broad information exchange regarding EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), electronic tags, etc. in Japan.

JEDIC, consisting of industry associations and the government (including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)), works in cooperation with the Next Generation Electronic Commerce Promotion Council of Japan (ECOM) and global standardization organizations. The Japan Information Processing Development Corporation/Electronic Commerce Promotion Center (JIPDEC/ECPC) serves as the Secretariat of JEDIC.
